Jones Hill

Arx Urban acquired a 37-unit apartment complex in Dorchester’s Jones Hill neighborhood that was on the City of Boston’s Problem Properties Task Force List. The property is within walking distance of the Savin Hill Red Line subway station and across the street from The Meeting House. After acquisition, Arx Urban worked with the property’s tenants, neighborhood associations and the Boston Police Department to improve living conditions and safety at the building without displacing tenants of good standing.

In 2022, Arx Urban partnered with Boston’s Mayor’s Office of Housing to retro-actively income-restrict the building under the Acquisition Opportunity Program (for tenants earning between 30-90% of AMI). The program aims to increase the share of Boston’s affordable rental housing stock protected from market forces and to prevent displacement of tenants threatened by rapidly increasing rents.
